Terms of service
Last updated 19 August 2026.
These terms cover the BIMspection website, the licensee portal, and use of the BIMspection software. Using any of them means you accept them.
License
BIMspection is licensed, not sold. A license is issued per seat: one seat is one named person, not one installation, and seats are not passed around within a firm. Your license key entitles the number of people it covers to create portal accounts and download the software.
You may not redistribute the installer, share your license key outside your organization, resell access, or attempt to defeat the licensing.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has it. You are responsible for what happens under your account. We may suspend or revoke a license, which signs out everyone using it, where it is being used outside these terms.
Fees and renewal
Licenses are charged per seat per year at the rate quoted when you purchase, payable in advance. New subscription licenses require an active paid term to create or change inspections, upload models, or start new translations. Existing records and exports remain available after expiry. The app checks the license periodically, independently of software updates, with a connection grace period of up to seven days from the last successful check, never beyond the paid-through date.
Licenses previously issued under the continuing-use terms retain those rights: installed software keeps working after lapse, while new downloads and updates require renewal. Those existing licenses are not automatically converted to subscriptions.
Your data and your models
Your inspection records — observations, notes and photographs — are yours. They stay on your own computers; we neither hold them nor claim any right to them. Your Revit models stay in your own Autodesk storage under your own Autodesk account, and your use of Autodesk Platform Services is governed by Autodesk's terms rather than ours. You are responsible for having the right to use the models you load.
Backups are your responsibility
Because your inspection data lives only on your machine, we cannot recover it
for you. If that computer is lost, wiped or fails, the observations and
photographs on it are gone unless you kept your own backup. Back up
%LOCALAPPDATA%\BIMspection the way you back up any other working file.
Availability
The website and download portal are provided as they are, with no guaranteed uptime. The desktop application runs on your own hardware and does not depend on us being online, except that displaying models requires Autodesk's services to be reachable.
Professional judgment
BIMspection is a tool for recording and presenting field observations. It is not a substitute for professional engineering or inspection judgment, it does not assess condition on your behalf, and nothing it produces is a certification of any structure. Decisions made from its output remain yours and your firm's professional responsibility.
Warranty and liability
The software is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising out of these terms is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending it
You may stop using the software at any time; fees already paid are not refundable except where the law requires. We may end a license for a material breach of these terms, including redistribution, and will normally give you the chance to put it right first.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date above shows when they last changed, and material changes will be sent to account holders by email. Questions go to [email protected].
